Beth Hart is a Los Angeles native and blues-singing singer from rock. She was a street entertainer and was first noticed by Immortal in the year 1995. Her outspoken, raw persona, musicianship, and emotional live performances have attracted the attention of fans. Chuck Taylor, Billboard's October 2nd, 1999 issue declared that Hart is "the epitome of natural woman" and was "bawdy and hilarious, chatty with her choices of spiced languages, and free-wheeling." But that's nothing to her presence on stage. The tall, muscular singer/songwriter strolls and screams out songs along together with Mick Jagger . At other times, she takes an area on stage, either at the piano or the center and her legs are crossed over the chairs, and her voice so fragile and painful, it's hard to tell whether she's going to cry or whether you'll. "Drawing emotions like this, from the time she appeared on stage for amateur contests as teenagers, Hart nonetheless experienced misgivings about the business of music as her career started to grow. Hart ended up losing her band after travelling around the world proved to be damaging. Hart was forced to quit the public for four years. Hart spent this time searching for answers, writing music and battling personal issues. Hart was determined to give her professional life a second chance and returned in 1999, releasing Screamin' for My Supper. The album that showcased Hart's songwriting talents, with the vulnerability and honesty of songs about facing life's problems.
